The committee will meet before the Regional Airport Advisory Commission tomorrow evening.

The Village of Schaumburg Pilots Technical Advisory Committee will meet and review updates on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manual and hear the airport management update at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, Feb. 10.

The committee will meet in the airport meeting room.

The SOP manual is being compiled by the Schaumburg Transportation Department, with the assistance of the airport's manager, engineer and administrative secretary, in addition to various village departments. The public works, fire, police and engineering departments, as well as the Fixed Base Operator, have assisted in updating procedures at the airport.

Once all procedures are updated, the compilation of the SOP manual will be completed and distributed to all departments in a need-to-know capacity. Because some of the procedures are of a sensitive nature, the manual will not be distributed to the public.

Additional information may be discussed and prepared by the committee and communicated to the Schaumburg Regional Airport Advisory Commission at its 7:30 p.m. meeting tomorrow, held in the same meeting room.

The committee will also hear updates on the airport management report. Among the items on the report are the recent snow events. The Schaumburg Public Works Department plows the runway and up to three feet from the hangers. It also ensures that the taxiway center lines are cleared. When snow conditions require runway closures, the pilots will continue to be notified via a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).
