The Schaumberg Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. today in Russ Parker Hall for a public hearing on the proposed Sleepy's mattress showroom retail building at 2 W. Golf Road, which was continued from the Jan. 20 meeting.

The applicant has asked for additional time to make public notifications, and staff have recommended that the hearing be moved to the board's Feb. 3 meeting.

The applicant is seeking approval of a site plan and landscape variations for the proposed Sleepy's retail building. The site, which is currently a vacant lot, is located at the northwest corner of Roselle and Golf Roads. The new 4,350-square-foot building would be located on the northwest corner of the site. Customer parking would be located along the east and south sides of the site, next to Roselle and Golf Roads. The building's exterior will be brick with synthetic stucco cornices.

The public is invited to attend Zoning Board of Appeals meetings, held every Wednesday at Russ Parker Hall. Disabled residents who wish to attend and require reasonable accommodations or have questions about the building's accessibility should contact the Community Development Department at 847-923-4420, preferably five days in advance of the meeting.
