The Village of Wilmette board meeting features a public hearing on the adoption of the 2015 tax levy.

President Bob Bielinski opened the public hearing on the 2015 tax levy at the Village of Wilmette's Dec. 8 board of trustees meeting.

No members of the public came forward to speak. After the public hearing was closed, the board voted to adopt the 2015 tax levy ordinance.

During the regular meeting, Mike Boyer and Patrick Duffy of Friends of the Elmwood Dunes thanked the board for their support during the recent fundraising efforts to preserve the property. President Bielinski congratulated the group for raising $45,000. He also congratulated Loyola Academy and its football team, the Loyola Ramblers, for taking the 2015 Illinois Class 8A championship.

The board was presented with the Government Finance Officer Association (GFOA) Certificated of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Report for the village's 2014 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

The board approved the Consent Agenda in one vote. The Housing Commission has a vacancy because Charles Smith's term has expired.

There was no new business to discuss. The board voted to adjourn the meeting at 7:47 p.m.
