A luxury apartment complex has been planned at 2500-2535 Watermark Terrace, Elgin.

The planned luxury apartment complex was considered by the Elgin Planning and Zoning Commission on Oct. 5. The application for Watermark at the Grove was submitted by the applicant, Interstate Partners LLC, and the owner, The Grove at Randall JV LLC.

The commission discussed the planned development and conditions outlined in the staff report. There was no public comment regarding the apartment complex.

After the commission reviewed the petition, Commissioner Karen Beyer moved that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommend approval of Petition 20-15 to the Elgin City Council, with the addition of the staff report’s conditions. The staff report’s documents and conditions will be included as the commission’s findings. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Beth Kruger and passed five to zero.

The commission also heard a summary of pending applications, provided by Senior Planner Sarosh Saher, before the meeting was adjourned.

The Planning and Zoning Commission consists of seven members: Chairman Robert Siljestrom, Beyer, Jay Cox, Corey Dixon, Kruger, Jerri McCue and Loretta Revesz. Cox and Dixon were not present at the Oct. 5 meeting.
