The President and Board of Trustees of Steamwood, Illinois revealed the minutes of their October meeting.
During presentations, VFW 5150 presented the Police Department with $500 for DARE and $500 for public safety programs. President Billie D. Roth thanked the Fire Department for their open house and also reminded everyone about Park Place's Safely Trick-or-Treating.
Under the Village Manager's report, Sharon Caddigan also mentioned the Fire Department open house. She also reported on the successful October 12 In-Service day. She noted the Community and Economic Development Commission meeting on the 2016 Manufacturing Camp on October 19 and the final Budget Workshop on October 22.
Ordinances approved included Ava's Place, 299 N. Barrington Rd., for the special use for sale of alcoholic beverages and an amendment to Title 3 of the Liquor Code. A lease agreement with Verizon Wireless was presented for first reading and posting.
Approved resolutions included an agreement for ambulance billing services with Andres Medical Billing; the 2015 tax levy estimation; the Village Board 2016 goals and objectives; the periodic review of all closed session minutes to see if they can be available to the public; and the 2016 holiday and meeting schedule for the Village of Streamwood.
A motion to approve the semi-monthly expenditures of $479,611.27 was carried. The motion for approval to purchase 2,600 tons of road salt at $66.43 through the State of Illinois Central Management Services was also carried.
