U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested Radule Bojovic, an illegal immigrant from Montenegro, who was employed as a sworn police officer with the Hanover Park Police Department in Illinois. This arrest was part of Operation Midway Blitz, initiated by the Department of Homeland Security on September 8 to target criminal illegal immigrants in Illinois. The operation is named in memory of Katie Abraham, who died in a hit-and-run accident caused by Julio Cucul-Bol, an illegal immigrant.

Bojovic had overstayed his B2 tourist visa, which required him to leave the United States by March 31, 2015. Despite being illegally present for over ten years, he was approved by the Pension Fund Board of Trustees in January 2025 and earned a starting salary of $78,955.70. His total earnings for 2025 amounted to $205,707, including taxes.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin criticized Governor J.B. Pritzker's policies: "Governor J.B. Pritzker doesn’t just allow violent illegal aliens to terrorize Illinois’s communities; he allows illegal aliens to work as sworn police officers." She emphasized that it is a felony for an alien to possess a firearm and questioned how such individuals could be given badges and guns.

Under President Trump and Secretary Noem's administration, ICE aims to restore law and order by removing criminal illegal immigrants from communities across the nation.
