On January 28, 2025, North Cook News sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Ridgewood Community High School District 234. The request pertains to obtaining copies of all emails and memos from the past year that contain the keywords "Lucy Calkins" and "Units of Study".
As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at North Cook News believe access to these public records is essential. It allows us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. We are currently awaiting a response from Ridgewood Community High School District 234 regarding this matter.
