Village Manager Cara Pavlicek conveyed that Northshore Mosquito Abatement District has reported a low risk of the West Nile virus.

She thanked those who participated in the events honoring the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Freedom Park.

She introduced the newly hired Human Resources Director, Sarah Bagley.

8. PRESIDENT'S REPORT

President Ciesla welcomed two new businesses to the Village.

She described attending events for Race Amity Day with Trustee Ross; as a great celebration and experience on the Village Green.

She congratulated the teachers, students, and administrators on completing another successful school year.

The second annual Grapes on the Green is June 15 from 4 to 8 PM.

The 16th season of the Farmers’ Market returns June 19 every Wednesday through October.

Community Moment

Sustainability Commissioner, Sandra Weiss discussed the negative effects of light pollution and the importance of dark skies for animals.

A. A Proclamation Recognizing June 19 as Juneteenth

Village President Ciesla read a proclamation for Juneteenth.

11. PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

A. Consideration of Approval Documents to Grant Zoning Relief to KZF Venture Group, LLC, 2830 Highland Road, Plan Commission Docket No. PCD-24-05

Trustee Hebl spoke on the rezoning request. One of the issues brought to the Village Board’s attention was regarding the stormwater located on the easement.

Trustee Israel commented that there should be special attention paid to stormwater retention.

Trustee Kohler spoke on stormwater abatement options.

Trustee Hebl opened public comment.

Michael Hart, 2500 Pfingsten Road, expressed concern regarding stormwater retention and the Village not assuming liability in the agreement.

Stephanie Hart, 2500 Pfingsten Road, expressed concern regarding the following: changing the character of the neighborhood, stormwater, and increased density. She requested the Village Board consider a two-lot subdivision.

Trustee Hebl spoke on stormwater. Furthermore, she supports the proposed project.

Trustee Israel supports the Plan Commission recommendation. He assured the public the Village has strict regulations regarding stormwater.

Trustee Ross stated the proposed detention will help combat the stormwater challenges in the area.

Trustees Pepoon, Ebhomielen, and Kohler support the Plan Commission’s recommendation.

Trustee Ross spoke on the proposed 2024-2025 CAP Priority Action items. She provided a brief overview of the recommendations.

Trustee Israel noted Kane County is acting on their Climate Action Plan.
