Cook County State's Attorney Candidate Clayton Harris, III is promising a third Kim Foxx term, if he proves victorious in Tuesday's Democratic Primary.
An analysis of Cook County historical precinct-by-precinct election results shows every northern suburb except Evanston voted against Foxx in 2020, and most resoundingly.
In 35 north and northwest Cook County suburbs, Foxx won an average of 29 percent of the Democrat primary vote in 2020, down from 45 percent in 2016.
Foxx received 75,989 votes across the 35 suburbs in 2016, and 50,318 in 2020, a decrease of 25,671, or 34 percent.
Her vote total fell 67 percent in Rosemont, 62 percent in Hanover Park, 46 percent in Niles and 45 percent in Des Plaines.
In her 2016 Democrat primary victory over incumbent Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez and Chicago Attorney Donna More, Foxx won majorities in the North Shore suburbs of Winnetka (55 percent of the vote), Glencoe (57 percent), Wilmette (54 percent), and Kenilworth (54 percent).
In 2020, she lost all four of those suburbs resoundingly, receiving just 27 percent in Winnetka and Kenilworth and 34 percent in Glencoe and Wilmette.
All told, Foxx received 2,005 fewer Democrat primary votes in those four suburbs in 2020, than she did in 2016.
Foxx saw major declines as well in Northbrook (46 percent to 30 percent), Glenview (44 percent to 28 percent), Northfield (47 percent to 27 percent) and Lincolnwood (46 precent to 29 percent).
She won 61 percent of the vote in Evanston, down from 70 percent in 2016, shedding 3,703 primary voters.
Harris, running against retired Cook County Judge Eileen O'Neill Burke in the March 19 Democrat primary, is an unapologetic Foxx backer, telling the Windy City Times last month that he "would give Kim Foxx an "A" with what she's done," promising to carry on Foxx policies if elected to office.
