Chicago’s Morning Answer radio host Dan Proft noted on X that Rolling Meadows High School students were forbidden from wearing red, white and blue for a theme day.

“Rolling Meadows HS’ Lisa DeRocha tells students no Red, White and Blue assembly b/c the American flag is racist (even during 9/11 week). Guys can dress up like Barbie but not Toby Keith. Noncompliance will result in the elimination of the student cheering section (i.e. Stampede),” Proft said on X.

Proft posted a message from Instagram in which Associate Principal of Activities and Operations Lisa DaRocha forbade students from wearing red, white, and blue.

“I’ve heard rumors that the Barbie theme has been cancelled and you all will just do your own Red, White, and Blue theme,” DaRocha said in the message. “I want you all to understand as leaders that. THIS ABSOLUTELY CANNOT HAPPEN. If it does, there will be immediate consequences. Stampede will be done for the fall (meaning the rest of the football season) and we will not be participating in the Homecoming Assembly.”

“I will post to the Twitter and Instagram tonight reminding everyone of the approved Barbie theme, but please understand anything of this nature (going against an approved theme for one you have been directly told not to do) would be in direct defiance of the school, the principal, and the wishes of the district administration - and it will not be taken lightly.”

Proft posted a photo of DaRocha along with her email address and phone number.

Darocha has been associate principal at the school since July 2022 and before that was assistant principal for 17 years.

She has been a teacher since 1991, according to her LinkedIn.
