Eagles' Game Two Comeback Completes Doubleheader Sweep Over TIU

The Judson University Eagles have won three consecutive conference games since last Wednesday as the Eagles took down TIU in both ends of a doubleheader 10-2 and 5-4.

In game one, Judson got on the board early and often as the Eagles enjoyed a nine-run second inning. Mitchell Stempowski and Alec MacLennan each had a bases-loaded RBI walk to score the first two runs. Following a run-scoring balk, Josh Golibrzuc had a two-run RBI single to right field. Adam Zeratsky followed up with a two-run RBI double and later scored on a double steal attempt. Timothy Ellinger had the other RBI in the inning on a groundout. In the sixth, Ellinger had an RBI single to right field that scored Ben Nelson to give the Eagles an eight-run cushion once again.

Judson had seven hits in the contest, only Golibrzuch had a multi-hit game. Taylor Abercrombie recorded a quality start as he pitched 6 full innings, allowing three hits, two earned runs, and recorded a pair of strikeouts and a pair of walks in the contest. Garrett Grosso pitched a scoreless inning in relief.

In game two, Judson took an early lead with an Ellinger RBI single. Judson retook the lead in the fourth on RBI singles from Stempowski and MacLennan. TIU scored the game's next three runs to take a 4-3 lead heading into the ninth. Jordan Babcock hit the game-winning two-run double that gave the Eagles the walk-off win. Brandon Callender pitched marvelously as he allowed only an earned run in 6.1 innings of work as he allowed six hit and two walks along with a pair of strikeouts. Zach Rojas got out of the ninth inning to earn his second win of the year.

The Eagles (6-11, 3-1 CCAC) face the Trojans once more on Tuesday at Hoffer Field beginning at 2:00 p.m.
