There are nine competitive school board races in northwest suburban Cook County, according to an analysis of candidate filings by North Cook News.
Of the nine school boards, seven currently have Democrat majorities, according to an analysis of elected official primary voting history.
All told-- 57 candidates are running for 29 open seats across the nine districts, including 22 incumbents.
That includes 36 Democrats and 21 Republicans.
Among the incumbents running is 41 year-old self-described "tween and teen" sex podcaster Kim Cavill of Palatine, a member of Palatine-Schaumburg Township HSD 211 board.
Cavill has drawn criticism for her podcasts encouraging tweens and teens to watch pornography online and try anal sex.
Of the 63 current school board slots in the nine competitive districts, 45 are held by Democrats, 17 by Republicans and one by an independent.
All other northwest suburban school board races are not competitive, meaning the number of candidates running matches the number of seats available.
Uncompetitive NW Cook school board races include Wheeling CCSD 21, Prospect Heights 23, Schaumburg CCSD 54 and Maine Township HSD 207.
Election Day is Tues. April 4.
