Community Consolidated School District 15 Board candidate Justin Hegy recently discussed his motives for running in an interview with North Cook News.

"My wife Lauren and I keep seeing friends and family move away to states like Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, and Florida," Hegy said. "This isn't just anecdotal. Palatine D15 has lost about nine percent of its student population since 2018. Young families are choosing to move out of the district."

When asked about the skills that he could bring to the district board, Hegy cited his years of public administration and public policy experience, as well as his extensive labor relations background.

"If I am elected I would fight for high-quality, nonpolitical, age-appropriate curriculum, fiscal responsibility and lower taxes, and parental rights and medical privacy," he said.

Hegy also said that while he doesn't have any children, he and his wife look forward to starting a family.

"Many generations of my family have raised families in Illinois, and I want to do the same," he said.

According to its official website, Community Consolidated School District 15 "is the second largest elementary district in Illinois and includes 15 elementary schools, 4 junior high schools, and one preschool early childhood center and alternative public day school." The schools are as follows:
