Boo Buie Named Big Ten Player of the Week

After posting 19 and 26 points in wins at Ohio State and over No.1 Purdue respectively, Boo Buie was named Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. Buie was also named March Madness Player of the Week on Monday morning.

Across two games, Buie averaged 22.5 points, 4.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocked shots during the week of February 6-12.

Against Ohio State, Buie posted 19 points, tying Brooks Barnhizer for the team lead. Buie also added a game-high five assists, two rebounds, and a steal in the come-from-behind victory in Columbus, Northwestern's first win in Columbus since Dec. 27, 2016.

Against No. 1 Purdue, Buie posted a game-high 26 points, while adding four rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a career-high three blocks, becoming the first Big Ten player with 25+ points, 3+ assists, 3+ steals, and 3+ blocks in a game since Keegan Murray (Iowa) did so against Western Illinois on Dec. 29, 2021. He is the first Big Ten player to do so in a conference game since at least the 2010-11 season.
