Men's Basketball Starts 2023 With 86-67 Loss to Holy Cross
The Judson University Men's Basketball Team played its first contest of 2023 on Wednesday as the Eagles came up short against Holy Cross 86-67.
Leonard Wilson led the Eagles in scoring off the bench with 17 points and added three steals and a rebound. He went 5-12 from the field, including going 2-6 from downtown, and was 5-5 from the line. Javaris Wiggins led the starters in scoring with 15 points as he shot 6-9 from the field and made three free throws. He added four rebounds and two assists. Anterrious Rhyan had 12 points, including going a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line. Jack Keller scored seven points and added six rebounds as he was 3-6 from the field and 1-3 from downtown. Isiah Burd was 4-8 from the field as he finished with eight points and three boards. Thomas Donati had six rebounds off the bench for Judson.
"Getting out-hustled and out-rebounded makes it difficult to beat a team like Holy Cross," said Head Coach Bruce Fields. "I have faith that we will play with greater intensity in our upcoming game."
