Finance Director Graefen read the reason for the Hearing:

"The City of Prospect Heights is holding a public hearing relative for its 2022 tax levies (payable in 2023).

Truth in Taxation hearings are only required by state law for requests in excess of 105% over the previous year's levy extension. The City of Prospect Heights is estimating a 6.94% overall increase over the prior year and is holding this hearing as a sign of "good" governance to allow open communication and transparency. The requested increase is projected to capture any new construction within the City and maintain operating costs that will be impacted by inflation. Costs that will be impacted include Police Pension contributions and repairs, maintenance and improvements in Special Service Areas #5 and #8.

The actual tax operating levy extension will be limited to the 5.0% CPI increase and any additional increase relative to new construction and new property within the City boundaries."

At 6:21 PM, Acting Mayor Dolick opened up the Hearing to the Public.

There were no questions or public comments

At 6:22 PM, Acting mayor Dolick closed the floor to Public Comment.

At 6:22 PM, Alderman Ludvigsen moved to Close the Public Hearing for the Truth and Taxation 2022 Levy Ordinances; seconded by Alderman Morgan-Adams. There was unanimous approval.
