Peter Skoronski Named Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year
Peter Skoronski was named the Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday.
Skoronski was also named First Team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media, while Evan Hull earned honorable mention recognition by both the coaches and media.
Skoronski is the first Northwestern recipient of the Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year award since its inception in 1984. Skoronski becomes the fourteenth player and first offensive lineman in Northwestern history to earn two First Team All-Big Ten awards in his career. He is the third Wildcat to do so under Pat Fitzgerald, joining kicker Jeff Budzein (2012, '13) and linebacker Paddy Fisher (2018, '20).
A projected first round pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, Skoronski was named to the Midseason All-America Team by Pro Football Focus and the Associated Press. Skoronski is graded as the top pass-protector in the country by PFF, with a 93.7 pass blocking grade. He has allowed only six pressures on 480 pass-blocking snaps. According to PFF, his 79.1 run-blocking grade also ranks 5th among all qualifying Power 5 tackles.
The 32 recipients of the Rimington-Pace award have combined to produce 16 first-round picks, 11 First Team AP All-Pro awards, 35 Pro Bowl selections, and two Hall of Fame inductions. All 32 recipients were selected in the NFL draft.
Evan Hull earned the second All-Big Ten recognition of his career after becoming the 16th player since 2000 to average over 75 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards a game over an entire season, most recently done by Travis Etienne and Saquon Barkley. Hull led all FBS running backs with 54 receptions and was second amongst all Big Ten receivers with 483 yards after the catch this season. Hull tallied 2,417 rushing yards, 851 receiving yards, and 22 total touchdowns in his four-year career at Northwestern.
