City of Elgin Heritage Commission 2022 Historic Rehabilitation Grant Application Grant Review Subcommittee met April 26.

1. 408 Bowen Court: Rehabilitation of front porch stoop in appropriate design; replacement of front door with appropriate design; scrape and paint.
2. 159 S. Channing Street: Construction of carriage house.
3. 168 Franklin Street (TIF): Replace vinyl windows with wood windows; rehabilitation of front stoop in appropriate design; scrape and paint.
4. 11 N. Gifford Street (TIF): Installation of half-round gutters and round downspouts.
5. 560 Douglas Avenue: Rehabilitation of front porch with balustrade that is in keeping with the style of the home; installation of shutters to match historic photograph.
6. 160 Lovell Street: Rehabilitation of front stoop in appropriate design; installation of Queen Anne style door and sidelights; scrape and paint.
7. 477 Park Street: Remove non-original cedar shingles – restoration of original clapboards underneath; restore windows; new wood storm windows; replace non-original garage door with carriage style door; repair front and rear porches; replace cellar door; scrape and paint.
8. 453 N. Spring Street (TIF): Installation of half-round gutters and round downspouts; spot replace crown molding.
9. 470 E. Chicago Street: Rehabilitation of front porch including replaced of nonoriginal front porch stairs, newels, handrails and skirting with new features that match historic photograph; installation of custom made finial on top of porch roof to match historic photograph.
c. 75/25 Application Review and Grant Recommendation
1. 329 St. Charles Street: Spot replacement of deteriorated siding; recreation of missing architectural features; prep, prime and paint in 3 color paint scheme; Installation of half-round gutters. (Part 2 of Project from 2021)
