Analysis: Niles Township administrators rank 65th in state for average pay

Administrators in Niles Township Community High School District 219 earn an average of $136,887 per year, ranking 65th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 2.3 percent higher than in 2016 and 6.4 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 23 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Niles Township School District in Cook County enrolled 4592 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 104 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
