Analysis: Kenilworth administrators rank 26th in state for average pay

Administrators in Kenilworth School District 38 earn an average of $150,470 per year, ranking 26th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 2 percent higher than in 2016 and 4.1 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 35.2 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Kenilworth School District in Cook County enrolled 471 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 86 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
