A. State Capitol Update from Dan Shomon, Inc.
Firm principal Dan Shomon, along with Director of Governmental Affairs Corryn Bradley, will be presenting on the legislative advocacy they are conducting on the City’s behalf in Springfield.
Initiatives and Other Items
B. Adoption of the 2022 Official Zoning Map (No cost)
Objective: Comply with state statute requiring the annual adoption and publication of an official zoning map.
C. Amend the Design Guideline Manual for Landmarks and Historic Districts in Title 20 of the Elgin Municipal Code (No cost)
Objective: Enhance the effectiveness of the Elgin Design Guideline Manual for Landmarks and Historic Districts to serve residents of historic districts and landmarks in preserving their historic properties.
D. Contract with B & F Construction Code Services, Inc. for Supplementary Building Inspection Services ($45,000)
Objective: Ensure the provision of timely building inspections during periods of unusually high demand and/or prolonged staffing vacancies.
E. Acceptance of Public Improvements and Easements within the Site Located at 2701-2801 Galvin Drive ($9,848 estimated five-year maintenance cost)
Objective: Fulfill the City’s obligation to maintain reliable infrastructure for serving businesses and residents.
F. Acceptance of Public Improvements along Busse Parkway ($4,402 estimated five-year maintenance cost)
Objective: Fulfill the City’s obligation to maintain reliable infrastructure for serving businesses and residents.
G. Amendment No. 1 to the Engineering Services Agreement with RK Johnson and Associates, Inc. for Combined Sewer Overflow National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit Compliance ($117,000)
Objective: Provide the City with engineering services to comply with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency requirements of the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit.
H. Amendment No. 2 to Engineering Services Agreement with Trotter and Associates, Inc. for Sewer Infrastructure Projects ($65,000)
Objective: Provide the City with engineering services to evaluate, design and provide construction services related to sewer system improvements.
I. Funding of the Fox River Study Group ($25,000)
Objective: Improve the water quality of the Fox River to ensure a sustainable water supply and useful resource.
J. Purchase Agreement with Fontus Blue for the Purchase of Treatment Optimization Software and Technical Support ($104,000)
Objective: Optimize water treatment processes using specialty software and data tracking.
K. Lease Agreement with Zoll Medical Corporation for Cardiac Monitors ($78,871) Objective: Provide a consistent capital expenditure cost and ensure the most current technology for the department’s cardiac monitors.
