(March 7, 2022 - Barrington, IL) – Barrington’s White House is excited to welcome Lyric Opera Ryan Center Mezzo Soprano Katherine Beck on Sunday, March 13 at 3:00 p.m. Enjoy an unforgettable collection of operatic arias and classic American songs live from our 3rd floor ballroom or virtually from the comfort of your own home.
Known for her warmth, flexibility, honesty, and flair in works by Handel, Rossini, Mozart, and more, Katherine Beck will delight our audiences with her “balmy-voiced mezzo soprano” as described by the Boston Globe. Alongside pianist Chris Reynolds, she will perform a collection of operatic arias and classic American songs. Both Ms. Beck and Mr. Reynolds are members of the Lyric Opera’s Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center.
Originally from the green hills of Bennington, Vermont, Katherine Beck is establishing herself as a force in the opera, concert and chamber music realms across the United States. She is a winner of the prestigious George London Foundation Award and has sung on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera as a semifinalist in the Met Opera National Council Competition as of March 2020. She made her debut at the Santa Fe Opera in the summer of 2019 as Karolka in David Alden's award-winning staging of Jenufa. She also covered Ms. Emily D'Angelo as Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte.
