Report: Avoca School District spent $21,299 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Avoca School District 37 was up 8.8 percent from five years ago, according to the North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $19,576 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $21,299 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 728 to 739 students over the same period.

Avoca's spending in 2019-20 was 47 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
