Eagles complete 2-2 Tournament with four-set loss to Aquinas, sweep win over Cornerstone

Judson University Athletics issued the following announcement on Jan. 15

The Judson University Men's Volleyball Team finished their two-day tournament on a high note with a three-set sweep over Cornerstone 25-18, 25-23, 27-25. In the opening match, the Eagles took the opening set before falling in four to Aquinas 25-15, 19-25, 18-25, 24-T26. 

In the Aquinas match, Judson was led by a balanced attack of Brendon Gibbons and Javier Arreguin's eight kills apiece. Trevor Kozlowski and Jamison Blasing had six kills for Judson, while Tom Kurzynski and Elijah Wrobel had five for Judson. Wrobel also was Judson's lead assist man with 31 on the contest. Noah McConville had nine digs from the libero position, while Kurzynski led the team with 12 digs. 

In the second match against Cornerstone, the Eagles were led by Blasing's 11 kills, while Gibbons had nine. Kurzynski and Arreguin each had seven. McConville and Blasing led the team with 12 digs each. Wrobel was solid as the setter with 33 assists. Wrobel had four total blocks for Judson in the win. 

Judson (2-2) returns to action in the Aurora tri-match next Saturday.
