Report: Niles School District spent $16,904 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Niles Elementary School District 71 was up 6.9 percent from five years ago, according to the North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Cook County school district spent $15,807 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $16,904 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 537 to 641 students over the same period.

Niles's spending in 2019-20 was 16.6 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
