Prospect Knights (8-2) at Buffalo Grove Bison (9-1)

It's a re-match of the co-Mid Suburban East champions.

Prospect won this year's head-to-head between the two in Week 5 (Sept. 24), 17-14. It was Buffalo Grove's only loss of the season.

That's when Prospect was led by stand-out junior quarterback Frank Covey, IV, who was lost for the season with a back injury in a Week 9 upset by Rolling Meadows. 

In their first game, the Bison led 14-0 before surrendering two touchdowns to Covey and a field goal by Ben Sahakian.

Covey's back-up, junior Bradley Vierneisel, played game manager in Prospect's ground-led 28-0 7A first round victory over Palos Heights A.B. Shepard (5-5). Senior RB Matthew Raitano had four touchdowns in the first half and rushed for 122 yards. 

In its first round match-up, Buffalo Grove rallied from a 19-7 deficit to beat New Lenox Lincoln Way West (5-5) 22-19. Bison QB Michael Cervantes threw for two touchdown passes. Senior DB Brian Oberman forced a fumble and had an interception to spark the comeback.

Prospect's second loss of the season was to 4A second round qualifier Wheaton St. Francis (8-2) in Week 3, 34-27.
