Village Board of Trustees - August 17 report

Since 2014, the Village has contracted with SAFEbuilt of Colorado, a firm which provides building plan review, building/electric/plumbing inspections, code enforcement, administration, and permit clerk services for the Village. The original contract expired in 2018 and was extended through 2021 with two optional 1-year extension terms. At the August 17th Board meeting, the contract was approved for extension through December 31, 2022. The Board also approved to amend the contract to include health inspection services through SAFEbuilt since the Village's health inspector staff has decreased over the past year.

Preliminary Approval to Swap Commuter Parking Stalls with Daily Parking Stalls on Railroad Avenue

The Village Board of Trustees preliminarily approved an Ordinance to swap the eight commuter parking stalls on East Railroad Avenue in front of 1800 Dewes Court with eight 2-hour parking stalls on East Railroad Avenue between Glenview Road and the alley north of 1800 Dewes Street. This relocation was recommended by the Traffic Committee to accommodate additional parking for the occupants and visitors of Dewes Court. The map on the right indicates the new placement of the commuter stalls (red colored C's) and the 2 hour daily stalls (green colored D's).This item will be on the Board agenda on September 7 for final approval.
