Bull Valley businessman Gary Rabine is leading the charge in taking a stand against Gov. J.B. Pritzker and what a growing number of critics see as his out-of-control handling of the COVID-19 crisis.

Rabine, who recently launched his 2022 campaign against Pritzker, takes great exception to the number of state universities now implementing policy that will require all students to be vaccinated before they return to campus for the start of the fast-approaching semester, according to a list by Patch.com.

“Stop bullying Illinois children into getting an experimental vaccine,” Rabine recently posted on Facebook and Twitter. “I’m calling on JB Pritzker to immediately issue an executive order banning K-12 school districts, private schools and colleges in Illinois from mandating and requiring students to get a COVID vaccine.”

Dominican University in River Forest, a private, Catholic institution, is among the latest schools to join the list, according to its site. Unvaccinated students who receive exemptions will be required to submit to weekly testing.

Part of Rabine’s ire, he says, stems from the fact that of the three COVID-19 vaccinations currently, available only the Pfizer shot is approved by the FDA for emergency use in children ages 12-18. He argues it’s just another example of the governor’s blatant disregard for the masses in favor of pushing his own agenda.

“I’m running because I can see my family, my friends’ families and so many others that just want to get out of here,” he recently told IllinoisChannelTV. “It bothers me so bad. I’ve been in business for 40 years, the last 20 building businesses as a leader, understanding what great leadership looks like and it’s not what we see in our governor and our mayor of Chicago. I’m confident we need a leadership mindset that understands how to build leaders and doesn’t rule like royalty.”
