GLENCOE PARK DISTRICT: Duke Park Now Open

Park 01

Glencoe Park District issued the following announcement on Dec. 31.

Duke Park is now open! Construction of the new playground, which is located near Lincoln and Crescent Drives, is now complete. The playground features an interactive water feature, a hand-crank train, and a 2-12 year old play area with a poured-in place safety surface. The hand-crank train cars will be added soon. The interactive water feature will open when the weather is warmer.

The playground at Duke Park is part of the Connect Glencoe project, a half-mile walking path that links five parks between Maple Hill and Park Avenue. Along the path, new social spaces, drinking fountains, picnic tables, and new landscaping will be added. In addition to the new playground at Duke Park, the project also includes improvements to the Maple Hill pedestrian crossing and a revitalized Veteran’s Park plaza.
