Glenview Community Consolidated School District 34 issued the following announcement on Oct. 14.

Between October 19 and October 30, you will be able to log into PowerSchool to make your selection for your child’s learning environment for trimester 2. We will send out a reminder with instructions on how to make your selection on Monday. As a reminder, your options are: 

• Glenview Online Academy for Learning (GOAL): A fully remote learning environment
• Hybrid: A blend of in-person and remote learning

If you move your child from one environment to another, it will be similar to transferring schools. Your child will have a new teacher and new classmates. Please understand that, due to the complex nature of scheduling and the need to meet the health and safety requirements, we will not be able accommodate requests for teachers or hybrid day/time placements. Teachers and staff will be ready to welcome students to new classrooms, and support them (and you) in adjusting to new routines and schedules. 

The school hours and schedules currently in place will remain the same for the second trimester. You can find that information on the website. 

Your selection will remain in effect for the second trimester, which runs from Monday, November 23 to Friday, March 5. You will not be able to make a change during the trimester. In late January or February, the District will open another registration opportunity for trimester 3. 

If you do not make a selection by October 30, your child will remain in his or her current environment.
