The calls in Mt Prospect included 84 fires - 45 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 33 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $792,170 in fire loss - or about $9,431 per fire.
The department also received 628 false calls, including 23 malicious calls and 605 other false calls.
The calls resulted in four civilian fire-related injuries and one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, six fire service member were injured in non fire-related incidents.
The Mount Prospect Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 73 active employees and 88 retired or inactive employees, was $3,987,156 positive as of December 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $59,510 for every fire in 2017.
