Arlington Heights School District 25 Board of Education met Aug. 13.

Recognitions and Presentations

• The Board recognized Pastor Tom Sanders for his dedicated service as Chairperson and Co-Founder of the Get Ready for School Program for the past 14 years

Public Hearing on the Inclement Weather/eLearning Plan – 7:40 p.m.

Community Input

The following comment was made in person:

• Melissa Cayer, 1207 S. Ridge, asked questions related to the School District 25 representative’s voting record on two TIF districts in the village.

The following comment was emailed:

• Kevin Michael, 1915 N. Eastwood, agrees with the decision to start the school year with remote learning for students, but requests that the district allow teachers to choose for themselves whether they remotely teach from their classroom, or from home.

Information/Discussion/Reports - None

Action Items

• Approve the Inclement Weather/eLearning Plan as submitted.

• Approve crossing guard locations as presented for the 2020-21 school year.

• Approve the Resolution to Continue Serious Safety Hazard Busing for the 2020- 21 school year.

• Award the 2020-21 copy paper bid to Murnane.

• Approve the calendar update for the 2020-2021 school year as presented.

• Approve the amended motion of the second reading of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy with the edit for #3 to reference “parent organizations”.
