ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 54: Morrison Hosting Blood Drive on August 28

54

Illinois State House District 54 issued the following announcement on Aug. 7

State Representative Tom Morrison (R-Palatine) is hosting a blood drive in partnership with Palatine Township and Vitalant. The event will take place on Friday, August 28th, at Palatine Township, 721 Quentin S. Road, from 9:00am—2:00pm and by appointment only.

Rep. Morrison’s drive will take every necessary safety precaution to keep both volunteers and donors safe during the event, which is why appointments are required. To make an appointment to donate blood, residents can visit: https://donateblood.lifesource.org/GroupSearch.aspx and enter search code 517D. Food donations for the Palatine Township Food Pantry are also welcome during the event.

Due to the ongoing blood shortage in Illinois, Rep. Morrison is eager to host his third blood drive this summer. After two successful blood drives, this is another effort to help build up the blood supply in the state and save lives. Like the previous events, this upcoming blood drive will also aim to surpass expected food donations for the local food pantry.

“There is still a serious need for blood and this event will help increase our supply,” said Rep. Morrison. “Donating blood doesn’t take long, but has an immediate impact that can help save lives, especially during the shortage that we are experiencing. I would encourage residents who are able to book an appointment and come help out!”

Spots are limited for blood donation, so interested residents should make an appointment as soon as possible.

With questions, constituents can contact Rep. Morrison’s district office at (847) 202-6584.
