Analysis: Winnetka pays $7.58 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Winnetka Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.4 percent of the $1,973,068 the Winnetka Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.58 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Winnetka contributed $1,743,268 to the fund, which saw a $27,547 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $229,800, or 11.6 percent, in 2018.
