Analysis: Winnetka pays $5.48 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Winnetka Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.6 percent of the $1,734,771 the Winnetka Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.48 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Winnetka contributed $1,467,306 to the fund, which saw a $42,360 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $267,464, or 15.4 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
