The Buffalo Grove Rotary Club is doing its part to ensure that the community thrives, even amid challenging times.
According to the Daily Herald, the Rotary Club offered selected businesses a one-time community grant of up to $2,500. The funds are available for agencies and organizations that are pushing for positive change in the community. Preference was given to projects that are working toward making the community a better place in which to live and work, addressing real concerns and using realistic goals and available resources, as well as having goals and measurable standards and achievements.
Buffalo Grove Rotary Club President Bill Donahue said this program is a great way to help the community during a challenging time.
“Due to the ongoing pandemic, many area organizations are struggling financially and we are hopeful this program allows them to continue their good works,” Donahue said.
While the Rotary Club's weekly meetings were traditionally held on Thursdays from 12:15-1:30 p.m. at Lou Malnati's in Buffalo Grove, the COVID-19 outbreak has made some changes to the way that gatherings are conducted. Currently, meetings are held virtually.
