City of Evanston issued the following announcement on April 27.
On April 23, Governor Pritzker announced plans to extend his stay-at-home executive order until the end of May. The modified order will allow retail stores that were not listed as essential businesses in the first executive order to reopen for phone orders and online orders through curbside pickup or delivery beginning May 1.
Garden centers, greenhouses, and nurseries will now be able to reopen as essential businesses. Animal grooming services may also re-open.
Individuals are required to wear a face covering or mask when in a public place where they can't maintain a six-foot social distance and in pubic indoor spaces, such as stores.
Face Covering Guidelines for Businesses:
- Employees working in retail stores must follow social distancing requirements and must wear a face covering when they may come within six feet of another employee or a customer.
- Employees working in Essential Businesses and Operations, as defined in the Governor's Stay-at-Home Order, that are open to the public or have contact with the public must wear a face covering or mask.
- A business owner or operator may refuse admission or service to any individual who fails to wear a face covering.
- Appropriate face coverings include non-medical grade masks, homemade scarves, bandannas or handkerchiefs.
