Jan.-June 2019 Recap: Parolees in Palatine convicted of crimes involving weapons

There were two offenders convicted of crimes involving weapons released on parole in Palatine during the first half of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the North Cook News.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Palatine were men. The younger parolee was a 19-year-old man sentenced in 2019. The other was a 25-year-old man sentenced in 2019.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Luis Villa. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019 when he was 24 years old. He is now 25.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the first half of 2019 who were convicted of crimes involving weapons.
