Q3 2019 Recap: Parolees in Palatine convicted of crimes involving weapons

There were two offenders convicted of crimes involving weapons released on parole in Palatine during the third quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the North Cook News.

The data shows that a man and woman were released in Palatine. The younger parolee was a 43-year-old woman sentenced in 2013. The other was a 43-year-old man sentenced in 2012.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Dirk L. Hugo. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2012 when he was 35 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
