Q2 2019 Recap: Parolees in Cook County convicted of crimes against children

There were 14 offenders convicted of crimes against children released on parole in Cook County during the second quarter of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the North Cook News.

The data shows that 13 men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against children was 35. The youngest parolee was a 25-year-old man sentenced in 2012, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Serafin Dominguez. He was convicted in 2012 when he was 18 years old. He is now 25.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of crimes against children were paroled during the second quarter of 2019 in each Illinois county.
