Prospect Heights Mayor Nick Helmer recently announced that the city council has approved three locations that could be used for a potential recreational marijuana dispensary.
Locations on Rand Road, the northwest corner of Elmhurst and Palatine Roads, and a third Milwaukee Avenue site have all been approved as possibilities, according to a news release distributed by city officials. As part of the plan, the city council has established that no dispensary location be within 750 feet of a nursery or school.
Residents were able to offer feedback about the proposed plan through an online survey that was active during the month of October.
All three locations under consideration are among the heaviest-trafficked areas in the city, averaging between 26,000 and 41,000 vehicles daily.
