Village of Niles Fire and Police Commission met Sept. 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order at 3:28 P.M. and took roll call. Present: Commissioner Borkowki, Commissioner Pacheco, Chairman Mueller, Fire Chief Feld, Police Chief Tigera and Police Deputy Chief Penze. Absent:

Approval of Minutes: The minutes of the July 11, 2019 meeting were approved. Motion: Commissioner Pacheco. Second: Commissioner Borkowki. Yeas: Commissioner Pacheco, Commissioner Borkowki, Chairman Mueller. Nays:. Abstain:.

Correspondence: None.

Old Business: None.

New Business: Discuss Firefighter hiring. Three candidates are being processed for hiring with starting date of employment projected to be either 10/7/19 or 10/14/19. Ten candidates have been approved for polygraph exams. Eight have followed through with scheduling.

Discuss Police hiring. Three lateral transfer candidates are being interview on 7/11/19.

Discuss police department probationary terms.

The regular meeting was closed at 3:40 P.M. and opened in Executive Session per 5 ILCS 120/2 (1) Personnel. Motion: Commissioner Pacheco. Second: Commissioner Borkowki. Yeas: Commissioner Pacheco, Commissioner Borkowki, Chairman Mueller. Nays:. Abstain:.

The Executive Session opened at 3:40 P.M. to discuss Fire and Police personnel matters.

The regular meeting was reconvened at 3:42 P.M.

The next regular monthly meeting of the Commission is scheduled for October 3, 2019 at 10:00 A.M.
