Jan.-June 2018 Recap: Parolees in Des Plaines convicted of property crimes

There were four offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Des Plaines during the first half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the North Cook News.

The data shows that three men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for property crimes was 32. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced in 2014, and the oldest was a 45-year-old man sentenced in 2015.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was James Lybold. He was convicted of a property crime in 2014 when he was 19 years old. He is now 23.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the first half of 2018 who were convicted of property crimes.
