City of Evanston issued the following announcement on May 9.
Community members are invited to join Mayor Stephen Hagerty and 1st Ward Ald. Judy Fiske in celebrating the dedication and opening of Fountain Square's new zero-depth fountain on Saturday, May 18, at 11 a.m.
The event will include live entertainment, giveaways and more. Entertainment will begin at 11 a.m. and will be followed by remarks from elected officials.
In addition to the new fountain, the City's newly renovated Fountain Square includes a new Veterans memorial wall, a new community plaza south of Davis Street, a pedestrian-friendly “curbless” streetscape, street lighting improvements, traffic signal modernization, landscaping, street furniture and more.
Fountain Square is located at Sherman Avenue and Davis Street in downtown Evanston. For more information, please call/text 847-448-4311. For convenience, residents may simply dial 3-1-1 in Evanston.
