Elgin (Cook County) home prices fall in February 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in February 2017 in Elgin in Cook County fell by $13,750 while total sales decreased by 18.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In February 2017, there were 18 homes sold, with a median sale price of $132,000 - a 9.4% decrease over the $145,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 22 homes sold in Elgin in February 2016.

The median sales tax in Elgin for 2017 was $4,355. In 2016, the median sales tax was $4,384. This marks an decrease of 0.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 3.3%.
