The campaign committee of committeeman candidate Laura M Murphy, Citizens for Laura M Murphy, returned a $200 contribution from Advance America on April 17, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Advance America has not made any other contributions to Laura M Murphy in the past 12 months.
