Illinois' 55th State House District issued the following announcement on Feb. 20.
In response to the governor’s budget address, state Rep. Marty Moylan, D-Des Plaines, issued the following statement:
“Compared to the last four years of failed leadership under Bruce Rauner, Illinois finally has a governor committed to working with us in both parties to address the tough decisions that face our state.
“I look forward to reviewing the governor’s proposals, and will focus on the details of how these ideas would impact our district. It is still my strong belief that we need to protect critical services that residents depend upon as we still work to restore what was lost during the reckless budget impasse years.
“It is encouraging to see a willingness to address the challenges of Illinois, it will now take negotiation and compromise from stakeholders from both sides of the aisle to deliver the best results for the residents of our community and state.”
