Analysis: Prospect Heights administrators rank 136th in state for average pay

Administrators in Prospect Heights School District 23 earn an average of $120,122 per year, ranking 136th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 10% higher than in 2014 and 3.3% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 12% more than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Cook County school district enrolled 1587 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 159 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
