Report: Pennoyer spent $9,941 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Pennoyer School District 79 is down 21 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $12,591 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,941 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 427 to 429.

Pennoyer's spending in 2017-18 was 25.5 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
