Schaumburg Park District issued the following announcement on Jan. 23.
Taking a glance into your child’s future is as easy as 1-2-3.
Parents interested in registering their children for the fall 2019-2020 school year are invited to attend the Preschool Open House, set for 6-8 p.m., Feb. 5 at the District’s three preschool locations.
During the event, parents and children will be able to visit classrooms and learn more about the curriculum.
“This open house is a great way for parents to experience for themselves how their child will spend a typical day at preschool,” said Teresa Varco, early childhood supervisor. “Parents will meet the teachers and participate in some hands-on learning with their child.”
Open House locations include:
- Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane
- Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way
- Pat Shephard Early Childhood Center, 421 N. Springinsguth Road
Children must be 2.5 or 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2019 to begin preschool.
The District’s preschool is accredited by the National Academy for the Education of Young Children. A variety of classes are offered, with curriculum designed to enhance social and language skills, develop kindergarten readiness and boost self-confidence while introducing early math, writing and scientific problem-solving concepts.
Resident registration for preschool begins Feb. 25.
